Who schedules cooperative education interviews?
Our office sends your resume to employers who may contact you directly to schedule interviews, so be sure to get names of your interviewers, phone numbers/contact information, and the location of the interview and directions if necessary.
What should I wear?
Dress code for interviews is business professional unless the employer tells you otherwise. See examples at Avoiding Business Fashion Faux Pas.

How should I prepare for interviews?
Step 1:Go through the GettingHiredTM Interactive Interview Training Module (approximately 45 min.) at the Co-op Education Office, Martin Hall, Room 211. Call ahead (Anne Diglio, Secretary, 723/932-3000, extension 3) to make sure no one else is using the kiosk.

View the videotape, The Insider's Guide To Competetive Interviewing, at either the:
- Co-op Education Office, Martin Hall, Room 211.
- Learning Resource Center, Loree Building (bring your valid student ID).
Step 2: Review the Cook College Co-op Education Active Interviewing Guide (available through the Co-op Education Office).
Step 3: Review the virtual interview questions at Monster.com: http://tools.monster.com/archives/virtualinterviews.
Step 4: Do a mock interview at the Co-op Education office using GettingHiredTM (www.gettinghired.com). The GettingHiredTM kiosk in the Co-op Education Office (Martin Hall, 211) allows you to receive immediate results and feedback on your answers to interview questions. You can also create a free web-based video marketing profile to list on your resume as well, which gives co-op education employers a chance to learn more about you. Make an appointment through your Co-op Counselor or by calling Anne Diglio, at 732-932-3000, extension 3.
Step 5: Meet with your Co-op Counselor to review your GettingHiredTM mock interview and get feedback/answers to any of your questions.
Step 6: Remember to send a thank you note within 24 hours after your co-op education interviews (click here for sample) and let your Co-op Counselor know how each interview goes.
