First-Year Student Testing Days

Saturday, April 18, 2009 OR Saturday, May 2, 2009

On Testing Day you will complete the Rutgers placement tests in English, math, and if desired, a foreign language placement test may be completed as well on April 18th. (No language testing is available May 2nd). English and math testing on both dates will take place in the Cook/Douglass Lecture Hall (CDL) on the G. H. Cook Campus. Foreign language testing on April 18th is offered on College Avenue Campus. You should make every effort to take the placement test during one of these early dates. Delays could adversely affect your schedule. Additional placement testing dates will be available in May, June and July.

Note: Students must register for Testing Day by visiting oirap.rutgers.edu.

Note: Foreign Language Testing is not available at the May 2, 2009 Testing Day.

Be prompt. There will be no late admittance to the exam.

Notes:

  1. English Exempt Students - Students with a verbal SAT of 600 or greater, or with a reported AP score of 4 or 5 on the AP English Language and Composition or Literature, are exempt from the English Placement test and should report for the Level 1 Math Placement Test at 8:30am (April 18th) and 9:45am (May 2nd). Official scores must be sent to Rutgers from ETS.
  2. If you are currently entitled to extended testing time (or other testing modifications) under ADA/Section 504, you will have to make arrangements to take the tests at an alternate time. You will not test on a scheduled testing day. Please see alternate arrangements below.
  3. Remember to bring a brown bag lunch or money for lunch at Neilson Dining Hall (cash only).

Make-up Testing is offered on selected Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays on the College Avenue Campus - Scott Hall (SC) (May 26 or June 1) or Douglass Campus - Hickman Hall (HCK) (June 8, 15, 20, 22, and July 13). To register for an alternate test date, go to oirap.rutgers.edu. Plan to arrive at the test site no later than 8:15 a.m..
