Student
Requirements by Class Year
First-Year Students
- Participate in the Academic Skills Seminar I & II.
- Fall semester: participate in Critical
Thinking Seminar.
- Fall and Spring semesters: students must meet three times
per month, individually or in small groups with assigned
counselor to:
- Discuss/review summer assessments.
- Complete additional assessment instruments, as needed,
to identify and address issues impeding academic performance.
- Discuss curriculum planning.
- Discuss career counseling.
- Complete pre-registration for spring and fall semesters.
- Participate in the Office of Special Program: Academic Support Program.
- First year students are required to attend a minimum of
two hours of academic support per week.
- Attend a minimum of two evening workshops or lectures sponsored by OSP.
- Submit FAFSA to counselor
by the deadline of March 15.
- Read OSP newsletter regularly.
Second-Year Students
- Maintain satisfactory academic standing, OR
- Participate in the Academic Skills V & VI for probation and re-admit students, if necessary.
- Participate in Academic Support Program, AND
- Participate in Seminar in Academic Skills III & IV.
- Complete pre-registration for Spring and Fall semesters.
- Meet at least twice per month with assigned OSP counselor.
- Attend a minimum of two evening workshops or lectures sponsored
by OSP
- Submit FAFSA to counselor
by the deadline of March 15.
- Read OSP newsletter regularly.
- Probation students must participate in the probation workshops during the semester that they are on probation.
Third-Year Students
- Participate in the Academic Skills V & VI for probation and re-admit students, if necessary.
- Meet same requirements as second-year students, PLUS
- Complete Senior Year Evaluation for Office of Academic & Student
Affairs.
- Complete OSP Pre-Graduation form.
- Consider participating in the Yale SURF Summer Program.
- Submit FAFSA to counselor
by March 15.
- Meet at least twice per month with assigned OSP Counselor.
Fourth & Fifth-Year Students
- Consider participating in the Yale SURF Summer Program.
- Meet same requirements as second-year students.
- Consider participating in the Yale PREP Academic Year Program (this program is open to Rutgers University graduates)
