Course Description: This course consists of a series of academic support sessions that serve to prepare students for their first year experience.  The sessions are specifically designed to meet the needs of each entering class as determined by academic performance and social skills level.  The curriculum is designed to promote the development of cognitive study techniques for course work in mathematics and science, as well as coping skills to address the first year student needs.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in seminars, attend field trips and engage in discussions that will enhance their communication and leadership skills, thus adding to their college experience.

Departmental Policies:

Attendance: Students must attend all scheduled sessions. Absences will inhibit your ability to fully negotiate your first year college experience and affect your final grade. Tardiness to sessions is very disruptive to the instructor/facilitator and students and will not be tolerated.
