Summer Institute: Residence Life

A Living and Learning Community

The purpose of the Residence Life component is to promote growth, maturity, and responsibility among students while giving them the guidance and security offered in a structured environment. Counselors and summer Residence Assistants work together to promote a cohesive living and learning community. This supports the mission of the Academic Component by providing the conditions to motivate and inspire students to devote time and energy to educationally purposeful activities.

Summer Institute students live together in a campus residence hall, along with residence assistants who are EOF program staff.   Because of the Summer Institute, EOF students begin the fall semester with greater familiarity with the academic demands and social environment of the George H. Cook campus.
