Student Diagnostic Inventory

Entering students in the OSP Summer Institute take The Student Diagnostic Inventory (SDI).

Goals of the SDI:

  • To help students discover the learning path that best suits their unique personalities.
  • To help staff plan a campus-wide program of support services.
  • To help students discover and engage the full richness of their individuality.

Diagnostic Instruments:

  • College Student Inventory, Noel–Levitz Retention Management System: a summary of students' attitudinal readiness for college.
  • Test of Everyday Reasoning, California Academic Press: a reasoning test focused on everyday situations; does not measure academic progress.
  • A Disposition Inventory, California Academic Press: measures attitudes including disposition toward critical thinking.
  • OSP instrument: measures students' major interests of study.
  • Student Satisfaction Inventory: Noel-Levitz Retention Management System: measures students' satisfaction with a wide range of college experiences.
