Academic Appeals

Students may appeal for an exception to the school’s academic requirements or policies on a limited basis based on unusual or extenuating circumstances. Appeals are submitted for review by the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS) Admissions and Scholastic Standing Committee. Any appeal must be submitted in writing to the committee at scholasticstanding@sebs.rutgers.edu and must state the reasons for the appeal and be accompanied by appropriate documentation. Letters of appeal must be written by the student, although the staff of the SEBS Office of Academic Programs are available to assist students in considering appeals for committee action. The decision of the committee is final. Students are notified in writing within four weeks of the action taken.
