Tau Sigma National Honor Society
Gamma Xi Chapter
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, in partnership with the Transfer Center at the School of Arts and Sciences, is proud to present the Gamma Xi Chapter of the Tau Sigma National Honor Society at Rutgers University. Tau Sigma is a society for students who have transferred from one institution (or institutions) to another and have shown high academic achievement during their first semester.
The purpose of the organization, as stated in their constitution, is to recognize the academic achievement of students transferring to Rutgers University from another academic institution and to encourage and promote students' involvement at Rutgers University.
The insignia of Tau Sigma consists of a red crest with the Greek letters Tau and Sigma superimposed, and a bundle of wheat. The letters Tau and Sigma are emblematic of transition and scholarship. Transfer students who earn a 3.500 GPA during the first full-time term in which they transfer (12 or more credits) are eligible for membership.
