Advanced Placement Tests
Credit is granted for Advanced Placement Examination scores of 4 and 5 only. Grades of 4 or 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement Examinations receive both credit and placement determined by the respective academic departments. Examinations with grades of 1, 2, or 3 receive no credit or placement. (Please note: Students who complete Advanced Placement courses, but elect not to take the exam and instead receive academic credit from another 2 or 4 year school are not guaranteed to receive the same equivalency as those listed below.)
SEBS first-year and transfer students must have Advanced Placement scores sent directly to Rutgers from the Educational Testing Service using our College Board code: 002765. These scores are sent electronically. Paper score reports can only be accepted, if sent directly from ETS to:
University Enrollment Services Admissions Processing
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
65 Davidson Road, Room 308
Piscataway, NJ 08854-8097
All AP credits received will automatically be processed by the SEBS Office of Academic Programs. Students who are considering turning down credit for their AP Exams should consult with a SEBS academic advisor. Students who elect to take classes at or below the level for which they have received advanced placement credits will have the advanced placement credits deleted from their total degree credits. Students must notify the SEBS Office of Academic Programs in writing, stating that they wish to waive their AP credits; all such requests should be sent to first_year@sebs.rutgers.edu.

*Advanced Placement in Jewish History exam administered by Yeshiva University.
Students must score a 4 or above to earn credit. Each exam is worth 1.5 credits, so students who take all three parts will earn 4.5 credits. If they take parts I and II, they will earn equivalency for Jewish Society & Culture 1 (563:201); if they take parts II and III, they will earn equivalence for Jewish Society & Culture 2 (563:202) If they take I and III, they will earn elective credit, TR:T01:EC, which means the credits cannot be applied to the Jewish Studies major or minor or to the SAS Core (without exam II, they will not have covered the medieval period in Jewish History). Students who complete all three sections will get the equivalent of either JSC 1 OR 2 as well as the other 1.5 credits as elective credits.
Notes:
- AP Scores of 4 or 5 on Calc AB or Calc BC and English Literature & Composition or English Language and Composition override Rutgers Placement Test Scores in Math and English.
- AP Tests taken in your senior year of high school do not exempt you from the required Rutgers Placement Tests, which must be taken by June 1.
- If you think you will earn credit for an AP exam you took this July, DO NOT register for that same class at Rutgers. You will not get credit for the same class twice. Speak with an advisor to add an alternative course.
