The Integrated Stress Response (ISR) and autophagy are two pathways that regulate proteostasis and promote cellular adaptation to stress. Previous in-vitro studies have reported that ISR proteins, specifically ATF4 and CHOP, regulate autophagy during amino acid deprivation and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress, however, this relationship has not been confirmed in-vivo. This work contributes to addressing this research gap via an in-vivo investigation of ATF4 and CHOP’s role in regulating autophagy under the context of different cellular stressors.
