Abstract:
Cameron Hamson's seminar title is "The Neonatal T Surge and the Programming of Adult Metabolism Across the Sexes." Their lab is investigating the influences of the neonatal testosterone surge on adult metabolism across the sexes in mice by manipulating steroid dynamics in neonatal pups. Morgan Atkinson's seminar title is "Peripubertal BPA Exposure Suppresses Motivation via the Orexin System." She will present research on Bisphenol-A exposure during the peripubertal period and its correlation with motivational behavior. The lab uses a behavioral economic paradigm as well as DREADD tools to examine the relationship between BPA exposure and the Orexin system, a key driver of motivation.
