Rutgers SEBS Undergraduate Scholarship Application

2024–2025 SEBS Scholarship Application Deadline has passed and is closed.

Criteria

  • SEBS scholarships will be awarded through this one application. Award amounts vary.
  • For the 2024–2025 academic year; entering SEBS sophomores (Class of 2027), juniors (Class of 2026), and seniors (Class of 2025), from all major programs of study are eligible. Please note this application is for SEBS full-time (registered for 12 credits or more) undergraduate students only.
  • The SEBS Scholarship Application Process is open to US Citizens, Non-Citizens Permanent Residents, and Non-Citizens Non-Permanent Residents.
  • This application is NOT for:
    1. New incoming first-year students (Fall 2024)
    2. New incoming transfer students (Fall 2024)
    3. SEBS graduating seniors (Class of 2024)
    4. Rutgers graduate or doctoral students
  • Scholarships criteria are based on a combination of academic merit, financial need, and activities. Please note some scholarships can be based primarily on academic merit, or on financial need, or a combination of both. Full-time SEBS undergraduate students (Classes of 2027, 2026, and 2025) are encouraged to apply.
  • Filling out the SEBS Scholarship Recommendation Information and Form is optional.

Committee Selections and Notification Process

  • The SEBS Faculty Financial Aid/Scholarship Committee will review applications. Email notifications will be sent to applicants sometime in early October 2024. It is your responsibility to check your inbox and your junk and spam folders to ensure receipt of notification. For possible earlier scholarship updates, students can check their Financial Aid Status during September 2024. Only if awarded a scholarship for 2024–2025; the scholarship will be listed on this financial aid website. Each scholarship will be credited directly to the student term bill.
  • If a student is awarded a scholarship after the term bills are due, the scholarship which will be applied to their student account balance if remains or the student will receive a scholarship refund for Fall 2024 within 4 to 6 weeks. Application Instructions

You are required to read this section carefully before beginning the online SEBS Scholarship Application. The SEBS Application utilizes Qualtrics software. Therefore, the following recommendations are required to be followed for a successful submission of your scholarship application:

  • The deadline for submitting your online SEBS Scholarship Application is no later than Friday, April 5, 2024.
  • Please answer all questions. Please note: you must complete all required questions on each page to be able to proceed to the next page of the application.
  • It is strongly recommended that your online application be submitted at one time with your application documents fully completed before. Review carefully the sample copy of the application listed below to help you prepare and complete your documents listed in the "Essay and Supplemental Documents" section BEFORE starting your online application.
  • If you do not complete your application and return back to your online application at another time, you may not be able to return to where you previously left off and you may have to start your application over again. A cell phone cannot be used. It is strongly recommended to complete your application at one time to avoid processing delays.
  • Once your application is submitted, it is considered final, and you will not be able to go back and make further changes.

To help you prepare your application, here is a sample copy of the entire application for your reference (4.5MB PDF). This is a sample only; your application must be submitted online.

Please plan ahead to complete your scholarship application successfully and on-time no later than Friday, April 5, 2024. SEBS Scholarship Application includes five parts: 1) Personal Information, 2) Financial Aid Information (if applies), 3) 2024–2025 Enrollment Status, 4) Additional Scholarship Questions, 5) Reich Scholarship Questions, 6) Essay and Supplemental Documents.

The final application section: "Essay and Supplemental Documents" includes these document uploads at the end of the application:

  • PDF only: Attach a mandatory (at least a one-page) typed statement describing your college career, future goals, and special circumstances you would like to be considered. (If necessary, please note that up to two paragraphs (maximum) can be dedicated to your financial need situation, however your statement should not be entirely devoted to this area.)
  • PDF only: If awarded financial aid, please attach a copy of current 2023–2024 Financial Aid Information. Financial Aid Information also can accessed through MyRutgers. For directions to access your financial aid information.
  • PDF only: If available, you are encouraged (not mandatory) to attach a copy of your resume supporting your application.
  • You can ask a Rutgers staff/faculty to complete and submit a short recommendation letter or a recommendation form (not mandatory). Once the recommendation letter/form is complete, ONLY the staff/faculty member is permitted to email the letter/form to scholarships@sebs.rutgers.edu. It is your responsibility to follow-up with your recommender to ensure timely submission.
